I love this device. Like many people I carry a flash drive to transport files and downloads. So I have a digital camera and a cell phone that both use micro sd cards and this card adapter let's me use them in place of the flash drive. Bye-bye flash drives.

With Windows 7 the install was quick. To use, slip the micro sd card in and put the end-cap on to secure it, then plug the USB connector into your computer/ notebook/ tablet's usb port, very simple, straightforward. The cap on USB connector protects it when it's not in use. The device is flat, not round, not bulky, easily stores in your pocket. One negative is, end-caps are detachable and you have to keep up with them when they come loose. Another negative is, the unit is so wide that it interferes with the second horizontal USB port on my notebook, can't plug in anything else. If you're going to need other USB devices you should probably get a USB hub.
$8 seems like a huge price for this tiny device but it performs and it's a good brand, that's what you're paying for. I have one of these already for my Canon T3i rebel. What I have never noticed until recently is this card reader can also read micro cards as well.
Directly under the primary slot is a micro slot for reading the smaller micro cards. I bought the second one for my granddaughter so she can download her photo's from her new action camera to her computer at home. These are great card readers for the money well worth the ten bucks I paid for this one and the thirteen bucks I paid for mine several years ago. If you need a great card reader that reads both standard and micro sim card buy this one you won't be sorry.
No power adapter no batteries required. Just plug your sim card in and plug the reader in to your computer or any USB slot that you can view your information from and your in business. I bought this to use with an SD card that I have in my digital camera.
Since I bought it around the 14th of February I've had no issue what so ever. Hopefully that'll continue to be true. I use it not everyday, but every couple of days thus far.
Each end comes off and while it could open a bit smoother. That's no big deal.
The SD card goes in easily and the card reader read the SD card immediately. I've seen some bad reviews and I suppose every item sent off doesn't always come without error nor does everything that one has will work with the item bought.
Things like this just happen, but I have no complaints and none of this is fluff. It is what it is and if it were horrible I'd be telling that. Hope more and more people have good luck with this!
